Assistant Manager

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our team in Centra Portglenone, 34 Clady Road, Portglenone, BT44 8NG.

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week, shift patterns can be discussed at interview stage.

This exciting role also offers 10% store discount, staff uniform, wellbeing incentives, development plans, instore progression and pension.

Working closely with the Store Manager in the day to day running of a store, including the colleagues and assets. The successful candidate will also ensure the brand, sales and net profit are all delivered to target for the store and will deputise in the absence of the store manager, as and when required.

Daily duties will involve:

  • Delivery of excellent customer service and maintaining high standards within the store
  • Development and driving forward certain categories in store
  • Identifying opportunities to increase sales
  • Ensuring the store adheres to Health & Safety and Environmental Health Standards
  • Completing sales and costs reports as and when required
  • Ensuring orders are accurate and submitted on time
  • Preparing staff rotas
  • Staff Management, including conducting Return to Work Interviews, Staff Investigations and ensuring full compliance to the Company’s employment policies

Criteria:

Essential:

  • At least 2 year’s recent experience in a busy convenience or supermarket retailing at Supervisor level within a sales-based environment with some experience of margin
  • Good working knowledge of all fresh food areas and an ability to support in maintaining an exceptionally high standard of operational efficiency throughout the store
  • Proven experience in the areas of stock control, people skills, cost control, rota planning, HACCP implementation.
  • Excellent attention to detail in store standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

Desirable:

  • Further education in related discipline
