As part of the wider library team the post assists in the provision of a comprehensive enquiry service This post provides most of the day-to-day routine tasks that underpin the provision of a library service including providing technical assistance and training to users, answering a range of enquiries and managing the library issue desk. The postholder liaises with colleagues across the Library Network, staff in other departments, and with library users. Good customer care skills, flexibility and time management are essential, as is an ability to work unsupervised. The postholder deputises for the Library Manager, and has some responsibility for supervising a Band 3 library assistant and potentially placement students and volunteers. This post will be based at the Library, New Stobhill Hospital.
