Job description
As Assistant Librarian you will play a key role in the delivery, administration and enhancement of the Library’s Resource Lists service for Glasgow School of Art students, researchers and staff. You will have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field such as Library or Information Science or Management. You will have demonstrable previous experience of working in an HE or research library at professional level, and a strong understanding of the learning and research needs of students and researchers. Working with the Librarian & Collections Manager and with other colleagues in Library Services, your role will focus on the delivery of a high-quality student-centred Resource Lists service. You will be confident in the management of both print and electronic resources, have a high level of ICT skills, and be able to manage your time and meet deadlines effectively.
Equipped with excellent communication skills, you will have the ability to work well under pressure. You will be proactive in building strong, effective relationships with students and academics, and demonstrate an ability to self-initiate tasks and see them through to completion.
