Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Criminal Division at the Law Officers' Department. The work is interesting, challenging and varied. You will have the support of a friendly, inclusive and highly professional team at the Law Officers’ Department, under the leadership of the Attorney General for Jersey. To assist as required with the workload of the Law Officers of the Crown whose main functions and responsibilities are to provide a comprehensive legal service to the States and every Ministry and Department of the States, to advise and act on behalf of the Crown, to advise and direct the Honorary and States Police Forces in criminal matters and to prosecute offenders. For a newly qualified/less experienced candidate, salary will be on a training progression starting at ALA1 (range £40,525 – £44,966) or ALA2 (range £47,187 – £51,628), or ALA3 (range £53,849 – £58,290, or ALA4 (range £60,510 – £64,952) rising, subject to satisfactory progress, to ALA5 (range £67,172 to £71,613) for a 37 hour working week.
