Assistant Landscape Architect
Salary: Depending on knowledge, skills and experience
Working Pattern: 37 Hours Per Week
Location: West Bridgford, Nottingham

The Job
We are looking for someone to assist with the design and delivery of landscape design, urban design and improvements projects.
Key areas of responsibility will include: -
- Assist in the provision of specialist landscape design and technical support to colleagues in the delivery of projects, that may be complex and large-scale, across the organisation and as a standalone service.
- Assist in the delivery and evaluation of Landscape & Visual Impact and Landscape Character Assessments as part of planning process, to achieve compliance with legislation and national/local policies.
- Assist with the production of a range of environmental assessments such as Environmental Impact Assessments, to support the development and delivery of large scale and complex projects for internal and external clients.
- Provide specialist IT support to colleagues to support delivery of projects, including a working knowledge of AutoCad /GIS software packages and Visualisation software packages
The Person
Mainly you will want to develop your skills as a Landscape Architect:-
- Relevant degree and registration as graduate member of the Landscape Institute or equivalent experience sufficient for registration
- Strong ICT skills including competence in specialist computer applications used to support landscape, planning, design and management activities including working knowledge of current CAD, GIS and visualisation software packages
- Knowledge of design standards and sustainability principles appropriate to landscape design, environmental improvement schemes and land management plans
- Awareness of health and safety, technical, planning and other legislation and good practice appropriate to hard/soft landscape projects and landscape planning
- Ability to provide technical support to complex and/or significantly scaled landscape projects.
- Proven ability to write technical reports to a high standard.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload to achieve targets in a busy design consultancy environment.
- A high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care and the ability to set an example to other staff.
