About the Role

• £40,260 - £47,225 + Car or Car Allowance + 10% Bonus + Benefits
• Can be based at either Maidenhead (or at least easy commute to Maidenhead) or Weston-super-Mare.

What will I be doing?

• To develop, implement and manage the advice to stakeholders on insurance and risk related matters throughout the business in conjunction with the UK Insurance Manager.
• Assist in the relationships with the SUEZ Group's Insurance Manager, insurance brokers and insurance companies relating to SUEZ recycling and recovery UK and local insurance programmes.
• Assist in the relationship with associated SUEZ companies and their separate insurance brokers (if relevant) and insurance companies.
• Generally assist the Insurance and Risk Manager in the smooth operation of claims.
• To ensure SUEZ recycling and recovery UK achieves best value by striking a balance between risk retention and transfer, by ensuring that risk is managed appropriately for the company by a top down/ bottom up, risk review and mitigation methodology.
• Developing relationships with local management, Health & Safety and HR personnel etc.
• Attending site/location claims reviews and site-visits with local management
• Anticipating future insurance requirements for the business, including providing input and support on the insurance requirements for tenders/major bids to ensure they meet best value criteria, to achieve a consistent approach and ensure insurability
• Assisting in the definition and application of the appropriate insurance policies for the different types of risks identified in the business
• Ensuring all risks are monitored from an insurance perspective including liaison with others in respect of monitoring of the risk assessment process: identification, risk hierarchy and action plans to mitigate risks
• Providing input on risk-related matters throughout the company
• Assisting in future-proofing the company's processing facilities, by anticipating future insurance / risk requirements in an ever changing landscape
• Developing a partnership approach to risk and insurance administration., to ensure excellent communication between the insurance team and operational staff and management
• Developing relationship with the Insurance Manager at SUEZ in Paris, insurance brokers and insurance companies.
• Developing relationship with SPVs associated with the company's major PFI projects, also their insurance brokers, insurance companies and other relevant advisors

What are the requirements?

• Understanding of the Waste and resources industry
• Proven record of insurance and risk management - including understanding of the insurance market and brokers.
• Experience of working within an insurance team of a service-led business.
• Indepth knowledge of the insurance and risk market
• Excellent attention to detail
• Endurance and perseverance to find the most effective solutions for the company
• Ability to stand back and view the broader perspective and able to challenge status quo
• Be a forward planner to ensure “future proofing” of risk mitigation and transfer
• Key influencer at all levels, both internally & externally
• Ability and desire to coach
• Ability and desire to provide support, facilitation and assessment
• Be an excellent listener, such that customers can be fully understood and needs determined.
