Band 4 £29,102 - £31,523 including distance islands allowance pro rata per annum
Full Time 37.5 Hours Per Week (Part Time may also be considered)

The NHS Orkney HR team have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant HR Officer to join the team and become part of the People and Culture Directorate.
A key function of the team is to provide professional HR advice and guidance supporting line managers to deliver change, improve attendance, and manage and develop performance. Our future focus also includes staff wellbeing and culture, and this post holder will play a key part of the wider team supporting those objectives.
The main focus of this post is to provide assistance to HR colleagues and provide high quality first line operational HR support to staff from a wide range of disciplines across all of NHS Orkney, utlising a range of policies, procedures and systems to provide accurate and timely advice.
The postholder will require knowledge of a range of administrative procedures, including basic HR procedures, through training or experience to Certificate in People Practice/Diploma level equivalent. Recent HR administrative experience with an understanding of current employment law is also required. Excellent communication skills are essential given the customer facing element to the role as is the ability to handle sensitive information, maintaining strictest confidentiality at all times.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with knowledge and experience of working in an HR environment, who would like to develop their skills in a generalist role, through exposure to a range of HR areas.
This is a full time post however part time hours may be considered.
