Assistant General Manager.
An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Clifford health Club and Spa for a Assistant General Manager.
The Club boasts an impressive 50000 square foot floor space which is located over four floors of a converted mill building. The facility comprises of state of the art gym, sports performance area, ladies only gym, 4 aerobic studios and 2 spas and swimming pool.

The role of a Assistant General Manager
Responsible for the day to day successful operation of the club, ensuring all our members and guests receive an excellent experience on each visit. As assistant to the Clubs Director you will run the club and operate as a GM in the day to day operation of the business as required.
As a Assistant General Manger you will:
* Work closely with the Clubs Director to implement strategies to drive club targets and member experience.
* Regularly acting as Duty Manager, taking accountability for ensuring the smooth operation of the club and ensuring day to day health & safety and compliance regulations are adhered to for everyone in the club while delivering excellence in member experience.
* Maximise senior leadership across the club (including holidays).
* Working closely with other Managers at all times
* Developing successful partnerships with third party contractors and suppliers as required (eg. cleaning), ensuring high standards are maintained consistently.
* Managing the day-to-day workload of the Administrator ensuring accuracy and speed and that all team member processing team member queries are dealt with effectively.
* Coaching colleagues to look for opportunities to increase profit and participation and working closely with GM to implement ideas across club.
* Engaging with and getting to know our members and seeking ways to improve their experience at every opportunity.
* Responding to and resolving member queries and complaints to the best possible outcome, understanding when/which issues to escalate to the Clubs Director.
* Ensuring the professional recruitment of great people and inducting, managing and developing high performance team.
* Checking rotas against the Time & Attendance system and approving for payroll.
* Setting stretching but achievable targets for own teams.
* Carrying out club projects and activities as agreed with the Clubs Director
*Continually participating and sharing knowledge and expertise with peers and other team members.
* Delivering ad hoc activities as required
* Conduct weekly meetings with all staff and contractors to ensure all operations within the club run smoothly
* Will ultimately be accountable to the Clubs Director
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of duties and the post-holder may be required to undertake additional tasks by the Clubs Director.
Qualifications, skills and experience as a Assistant General Manager:
* Educated to at least A level standard or equivalent with additional Higher Education qualification (HND/Diploma) or equivalent experience - desirable. Degree educated preferred.
GCSE in English and Maths.
* A First Aid at Work certificate and Pool Plant Operators qualification are essential
* Experience in managing a team in a service led facility (e.g. spa, restaurant, attraction, retail unit, sporting or leisure facility) – highly desirable
* Experience leading a variety of functions with variable challenges and goals, or across variable depts. - preferred.
* Experience of financial planning and management.
* Passionate about customer service.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Team player.
Working hours & Salary
Typically 40 hours per week and include regular unsocial hours, with early and late shifts and weekend working. Must also be prepared to work additional shifts and to be called in to cover events or staff absences.
£30.8k basic salary with upto £20k per year bonuses for hitting financial and project management target. OTE £50.8 per annum
