Job description
The Assistant Financial Controller works as part of a Performance & Management Reporting team within the regional office reporting to the Head of Performance & Management Reporting. The role supports the HoPMR to ensure accurate and timely business information is available to the Hotel Financial Controllers and corporate office.
The role of Assistant Financial controller will include:
- Preparation of all monthly management accounts, journal postings, accruals, prepayments and monthly reports for the UK & NL in conjunction with the Performance Management & Reporting team
- Submission of monthly statements to the corporate platform
- uploading financial information into SUN, SAP, and Board, ensuring consistency across all systems
- Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet and Intercompany reconciliations, investigating and correcting any variances
- Finalise VAT submissions and submit to local tax authority in a timely manner
- Intercompany reconciliations and management accounts
- Manage intercompany loan facilities and other debt agreements
- Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes and procedures
- Engaging in active collaboration within the finance community to identify opportunities for process improvements and best ways of working
- Support the development and implementation of group-wide finance system & process change projects
- Achievement of agreed KPI targets
- Providing support for internal and external auditors
- Responsible for driving compliance of all Accounting and Financial Controls
- Ensuring the accuracy of hotel ledgers and compliance with the accounting practices and procedures as required by corporate policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting practices
- Actively manages performance within the Performance & Management Reporting team to enable learning and growth
- Actively takes the lead and provides a positive role model for leadership
