Join our Finance team as an Assistant Financial Accountant
Our Finance team play an important role in helping us to achieve our vision by supporting colleagues across the organisation to achieve the best value for money, pay for goods and services and understand complex financial information. Our finance specialists work across a number of teams including Corporate Finance, Financial Management and Procurement. The role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Assistant Financial Accountant at Atelier House, Camden.
Salary: £31,500
Location: Hybrid role - mostly working from home with 1 day a week in our office in Camden and occasional visits to Liverpool.
Contract: 6 months, full time (Contract extension highly possible)
Your responsibilities will include:
- Post transactions from bank statements to the ledgers for each group company.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all group accounts held with Barclays Bank.
- Work with Finance colleagues to clear all suspense accounts.
- Before the year-end audit begins, provide the auditor with a complete list of bank accounts and addresses.
- During the audit, liaise with the auditor providing all information requested relating to cash and banking.
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis or interrogation of cash transactions as required by Finance colleagues.
- Act as back-up or cover for the Assistant Financial Accountant (Pensions and Tax) as required
What you will need to succeed
We are looking for someone who believes in working together as part of a team, who shares our values and who is positive and friendly. The successful candidate will:
- Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures.
- A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel.
- Good level of IT skills and literacy.
- Have previously worked in a finance role, preferably within the housing / property sector.
- Ability to analyse and produce timely and accurate information working with large amounts of sensitive data.
- Ability to work as part of a team, learn new skills and adapt to change.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a desire to continuously improve processes and customer service
