Geocore Site Investigations part of the RSK Group have an opportunity for an full-time, permanent Assistant Driller to join our team in Redcar, UK.
Geocore deliver geotechnical services and install geothermal loops to our UK client base with the potential to work on international projects.
Responsibilities:
- Working outside throughout the year in varying locations around the UK
- Carrying out routine and preventative maintenance, including regular cleaning of rig and vehicles, as and when required
- Undertaking other general labouring duties e.g., erecting fences, general reinstatement, light instrument monitoring, delivery of consumables, hand dug inspection pits and collection of samples
- Learning the process and operation of drilling rigs and boreholes
- Managing and resolving problems through knowledge and experience of different drilling procedures
- Accurately completing progress and job logs
- Maintaining tools and equipment
- Ensuring safety throughout the drilling process
Experience and Qualifications:
- GCSE in Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Previous manual / technical work
- Full driving licence is essential
- Flexibility to work in varying locations around the UK, often at short notice throughout the year
- Previous drilling skills and / or experience
- Health and safety qualification
- Strong problem-solving skills
- CSCS Card is desirable but not essential
- Telescopic handler licence advantageous
Salary and benefits:
- £28,528 per anum based on a working week of 47.5 Hours
