About the role
Wayfield Avenue is looking for a assistant cook to join the team
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience of cooking, preferable within a care setting
- An understanding of the need to provide a varied diet that meets the needs of service users.
- An understanding of different specialist diets such as low sodium, diabetic, fat enhancing or the willingness to undertake training to learn this.
- Knowledge & experience of working in a professional kitchen ensuring high standards of food hygiene and infection control are maintained.
- A flexible & resourceful approach to work situations.
- Ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
- An interest in their own professional development and motivation to attend training.
- A willingness to support trainees / apprentices in their development.
- The role includes working a fixed 2-week rota which includes some weekend and evening working till 7pm.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
