Main ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Commissioner will report to the Head of Asian Network and will work closely with the Commissioning Executive. The Assistant Commissioner will work with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
Are you the right candidate?You’ll love the British Asian music scene and know everything from Asian Drill to the biggest Bhangra hits. You will need to have a keen interest and some understanding of the commissioning process. Experience in commissioning or creating youth music content is desirable, along with experience of creating and developing digital content. You'll have programme making experience, sound editorial judgment and the ability to be organised in fast paced environments. Good communication and interpersonal skills with experience of handling confidential and/or controversial information tactfully is important. You'll have the ability to use your own initiative with confidence, using judgment to escalate where necessary. You will also ideally have a strong understanding of evolving audience requirements including in relation to digital content knowledge, ensuring that new forms of content are considered as part of the commissioning process.
