About The Role

We are looking to recruit for an Area Manager for Camden, London NW1

What we are paying: £30,000 per annum

Your hours of work will be 40 per week, covering predominantly weekday shifts of either 07:00–15:00 or 10:00-18:00, though you will need flexibility to cover occasional evening or weekend working.

Our client is a global business and we provide world class cleaning and porterage services to their EMEA Headquarters in Camden and enjoy a progressive partnership, integrating fully into their workplace community. Due to an internal restructure, we need to appoint an Assistant Cleaning Manager to work closely with the Cleaning Manager leading an established team of 23. This team provides a critical role ensuring that not only is the workplace clean and well presented; but in reassuring client colleagues and visitors that we are creating a protected and safe environment. We provide daytime housekeeping, porterage services, evening core cleans Monday to Friday, and periodic deep cleaning at weekends.

This is a highly visible role engaging with clients and your team throughout the working day as part of the workplace welcome; responding flexibly to the many interesting challenges which we work together to resolve. It is key that you are a role model for the team, developing the same high level of respect and trust with our clients which the rest of our team has achieved. You will be responsible for training them and measuring their levels of performance on a daily basis, so we continue to achieve and exceed our client’s expectations.

You will manage this team in close collaboration with the Cleaning Manager learning and sharing all responsibilities and ownership of the service. You will work under the guidance and leadership of the Atlas Cleaning Manager and deputise during periods of leave or absence. You will liaise closely with Daytime and Evening Supervisors and form a close one team spirit. This role can provide you with an excellent route to future promotion.


  • Leading a daytime team of 8 and evening team of 15 to provide an outstanding customer focused service which flexibly adapts to the changing needs of our client

  • Working closely with the Client, Cleaning Manager, Daytime/Evening Supervisors and Atlas Team to maintain our exceptional standards achieved and always searching for ways in which improve what we do

  • Daily checking of cleaning standards, task tracking system and weekly quality audits

  • Managing the electronic time and attendance system, and assisting the Cleaning Manager with onboarding and vetting of new employees and accurate payroll

  • Training the team on new techniques/products/equipment and refresher training for key safety and technical elements of their duties.

  • Reporting any defects to the Atlas team and the client so we offer the building users the best possible experience every day, by working together to resolve issues quickly.

About You

We’re hoping to recruit a person who is compassionate toward people: quick on the draw when it comes to hygienic safety in busy environments and have experience in people management. Ideally someone who is based within the area, enjoys a proactive role maintaining a strong and happy relationship with clients and staff.
