SMG-G04 - Assistant Chaplain
Job description
The University is seeking an ordained Anglican priest to be part-time Assistant Chaplain. They will assist and be fully supported by the Lead Chaplain focusing on the development and enhancement of our ecumenical Chaplaincy incorporating a dimension of inter-faith Chaplaincy.
This is a role for someone with creativity and inspiration, committed to finding innovative ways to engage staff and students, someone who will relish being part of a diverse community situated in the beautiful and historic city of Winchester. It is a role for someone with a deep, undefended spirituality and a curious, lively intellect who will flourish in a university context.
As our ideal candidate, you will need to have proven collaborative skills, work well in a team, with excellent organisational ability. You will help facilitate and encourage lay Christian involvement in Chaplaincy as well as assist and support the Lead Chaplain and broader chaplaincy team in the building of interfaith partnerships.
The post holder will need to have the right personality to relate positively, warmly and sympathetically to students, work collaboratively with academic and professional services staff and articulate effectively the bearing of the Gospel on institutional and community life.
