Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Buying Assistant to join and contribute to a high-performing Womenwear team. You will provide integral operational support to the buying team, assisting Buyers in the selection and procurement of merchandise to ensure we achieve our department financial plans, and our seasonal strategies are realised from inception all the way to implementation in store.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meticulous data integrity and management of daily, weekly, and seasonal buying responsibilities; Deliveries, Pricing, Buysheet, Assortment Updates, and general admin support.

Assist with preparation and analysis of sales history to build seasonal range plans.

  • Ability to manage required tools and systems, as well as troubleshoot any issues and identify better ways of working to improve efficiency.
  • Autonomous and Accurate Delivery and Purchase Order Management. Clear communication of orders status, challenges, and opportunities to wider team.
  • Demonstrate and communicate awareness of retail landscape; conduct research on competitive set including pricing, style, and key messages and translate findings into actions.
  • Assist the team to maintain awareness of fashion and market trends to help identify product opportunities
  • Support in preparing necessary documents and resources for major calendar meetings, including Hindsight, Buy Review and Sign Off.
  • Agile Outlook and priority management to maintain department critical path.
  • Able to analyze business reports with support from manager to broaden knowledge. Develop the ability to draw top line conclusions and actions from analysis.
  • Build relationships with cross-functional partners across Stores, Production, Merchandising and Creative to ensure the department critical path is maintained to the highest standard.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Highly organised
  • Ability to manage timelines and juggle priorities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • A strong team player who is adaptable within different circumstances
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong awareness of product trends and current state of market & a highly commercial driven mindset
  • Resilient with an agile and resourceful mindset, able to over-come challenges by focusing on solutions
  • Ideally possess at least 1 full strategic buying cycle
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, both written and spoken
