Position Overview
The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for supporting the Branch Manager in all functions of assigned branch with particular emphasis on managing a client-driven, sales and service environment; plan, direct and control the activities of branch personnel towards attainment of branch sales goals and objectives, client service standards, and is responsible for the operational and security activities of assigned branch. Is a catalyst in managing and promoting desired change in the assigned branch. The Assistant Branch Manager has responsibility for supporting the manager in managing the operational integrity of his/her assigned branch and assures that quality customer service standards are consistently achieved. Through a leadership role, the Assistant Branch Manager gives support, guidance, and training to branch personnel in order to encourage the achievement of overall sales, service, productivity, performance, operational, and security goals. The Assistant Branch Manager is also accountable for personnel development, business development, income, expense, and budget management. In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager will assume the responsibilities of the Branch Manager.
Role and Responsibilities
- Sell and/or refer Fremont Bank products and services to current and prospective clients
- Actively support and participate in branch promotions and community programs in order to build business relationships with current and prospective clients
- Meet assigned individual monthly sales and referral goals, i.e., budget deposit goals, deposit stretch goals, and ensure branch meets monthly sales goals
- Lead telemarketing and follow-up sales duties to ensure clients are provided the highest quality product knowledge and service
- Understand and accurately communicate Fremont Bank deposit and loan products, quote rates, and perform payment calculations for clients
- Understand the features and benefits of Fremont Bank’s products and services in order to efficiently train and motivate personnel to cross-sell those products and services to current and potential clients
- Work with Branch Manager to develop and implement daily actions in order to proactively meet sales goals and objectives
- In cooperation with the Branch Manager, conduct daily quick start sales meetings, along with weekly and monthly sales production meetings with branch personnel
- Track daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals for branch personnel
- Participate in business development activities, including applicable community-based business and social programs and social gatherings
- Encourage each branch associate to achieve top performance
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of banking experience with previous operations, new accounts, and teller experience
- Proven leadership capabilities
- Extensive background in customer service and sales
- Has previously acted in a supervisory role for at least two years
- Knowledge of branch operations, lending, and sales techniques
- A thorough understanding of goal setting and personnel development techniques
- Ability to read financial statements, bank statements, and budgets
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to diffuse hostile client interactions and mediate employee relation issues
- Proven ability to motivate personnel in the area of sales productivity and operational compliance
- Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance issues
- Ability to perform his/her subordinates job function when called upon to do so
- Excellent math skills
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
