art-K Wimbledon is an art club for children aged 6 to 16 based in Wimbledon. Using a wide range of mediums and learning techniques, the club aims to teach children a diverse range of artistic styles as well as 3D projects.
With over 40 branches across the country and 4000+ students - art-K has a tried-and-tested programme that’s proven to work in teaching children core artistic skills and techniques. art-K cares very deeply about sharing their love of art with our students, and our goal is to make Art Education accessible for everybody nationwide!
We’re looking to find a passionate, motivated and friendly Assistant Art Teacher to join our team at art-K Wimbledon! You will be supporting our Art Teachers with the running of the session and the upkeep of the studio, ensuring our students get the best experience when attending our classes.
Role includes:
- Mixing paints and preparing materials
- Encouraging children in their projects
- Assimilating art skills
- Setting up and tidying up after sessions
- Supporting Art Teachers with general studio maintenance (stock taking, window displays, cleaning, creating templates/prototypes) and class preparation.
- Ad-hoc requirements: covering classes in the teacher's absence (in your studio or in a nearby studio, expenses covered), running workshops during school holidays.
Requirements
- Art Based Degree
- Strong knowledge of artistic techniques, including tone and perspective
- Experience working with children
- Positive and proactive attitude
- Someone who lives within 30 minutes of the branch
- Flexibilty to assist in other branches within a reasonable commuting distance in cases of staff absence.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: £11.67 per hour
