We are looking to recruit a number of enthusiastic Assistant Administrators to provide support across the ‘Academic Administration’ and ‘Partnerships and Placements’ teams. You will undertake a wide range of administrative activities, for example - responding to email enquiries, searching for information online, taking notes at meetings, organising events and updating documentation. You will interact with placement providers, students, applicants and visitors and work closely with other administrators and lecturers. Roles are available at both our Headington and Harcourt Hill campuses and we have full and part time roles to fill.
You should feel comfortable working to deadlines and without constant supervision; you should have good attention to detail, a positive approach to customer service and have solid IT skills. Previous experience in an office or customer facing environment would be an advantage, along with a familiarity with MS Office (Word and Excel) or Google Workspace (GMail, Docs and Sheets) but full training will be provided.
Our Headington campus has very limited parking but our Harcourt campus has plenty (daily parking fees apply) and the 400 Oxford Bus Company ‘Park and Ride’ service runs between the Harcourt, Headington and Wheatley campuses every ten minutes. It also stops at the train station and in Oxford city centre on the way, which means getting to any of our campuses is really easy. For more information about all the benefits of working with us please see the document ‘All About Brookes’ below.

If you would like to have a chat about the Assistant Administrator roles or ask about how your skills match what we are looking for then please get in touch with either:
The University has adopted equality, diversity and inclusion as core values. We welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates whatever their background, and especially from BAME candidates who are under-represented in our workforce.
We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job because they don’t think they have the right skills or experience, but we realise that the 'perfect candidate' does not exist. So, if you are excited about working for us, go ahead and apply; you could be exactly what we need!
You will also enjoy the benefits of working at Oxford Brookes University with up to 38 days holiday, rising to 41 days holiday (this includes 13 Bank Holidays and Concessionary Days), a generous Local Government pension scheme (14.7% Employer contribution rate), cycle to work scheme and access to a variety of university facilities (NHS Dentist, Brookes Nursery, Gym and sports facilities). For more information about benefits please see the document 'All about Brookes' below.

As part of the application process all applicants are required to complete our online application form by clicking on the “Apply for Job” button below. All parts of the application form should be completed and in the section of the form called “Supporting Documents”, applicants must upload their CV and a Personal Statement. To complete the Personal Statement part of the application, applicants must download the Personal Statement document which is part of the advert below and complete the form, providing examples and explaining how they meet each item detailed on the document. The Personal Statement must then be uploaded to the application form along with the CV.
This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points based immigration system, however applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
