Assistant Accountant
Location: St Pauls, London

The Role
The Assistant Accountant will be a key role within the finance team and will provide accurate processing of supplier and customer payments, as well as daily bank reconciliations, nominal ledger reconciliations and processing various journals.
- Processing and payment of purchase ledger invoices.
- Liaising with purchase approvers in the business to ensure prompt payment and correct treatment for any disputed invoices.
- Processing of credit cards and ensuring receipts reconcile to statements.
- Processing of daily customer payments.
- Filing of purchase invoices and other financial information.
- Monthly accrual, prepayment and recharges.
- Maintenance of the finance ‘inbox’ and responding to internal and external queries.
- Reconciliation various bank accounts, petty cash and intercompany.
- Ad-hoc support to other finance team members including processing sales ledger invoices.
What we’re looking for
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral). The individual will need to liaise with all levels of staff across the business, suppliers and other bookmaking organisations.- Organised, committed with good time management skills.
- Minimum 12 month’s experience in a similar role and preferably degree qualified.
- Part qualified or studying towards a professional finance qualification would be preferable (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Good attention to detail and good excel skills (pivot tables, filtering, ‘lookup,’ ‘if’).
- Enthusiastic attitude and mature approach combined with a willingness to learn and develop the role
- Working knowledge of using MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

- Interest in gambling and gaming
- Experience using database query tools such as Tableau or other Business Intelligence systems
