Job title: Assistant accountant
Salary
£27,000- £32,000 p/a FTE
Contracted hours
40 hours per week 8:30am – 17:30pm exc. 1-hour unpaid break

Flexible location – based from home, with expectation to travel to London office weekly

This role will be critical to the entire finance function and will suit a candidate who is hard working, ambitious and is looking to join a fast-paced company experiencing rapid growth. The role offers an environment where the candidate can learn, develop and demonstrate their capabilities.
The role will report to the Finance Director, taking ownership for the day-to-day bookkeeping of the organisation, assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Director as required. In addition to the above, the applicant will be expected to train towards an accounting qualification.
Role Summary
- Assisting with the preparation, review, and issue of monthly management accounts
- Provide monthly analysis to support month end pack preparation
- Full ownership of Accounts Payable function (to include posting and paying purchase invoices)
- Perform accurate daily bank reconciliations
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting systems
- Perform and monitor various Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Assist with enhancing internal controls and policies
- Assist in streamlining processes for finance to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Director and board when required
- Ad hoc project work as and when required by the department
Person specification
- Finance-related degree, commenced accountancy qualification (e.g. AAT) or minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role
- Willing to train towards an accounting qualification
- High attention to detail
- Takes ownership of work and able to perform under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Able to communicate clearly with both internal and external parties both in person and in writing
- Strong team player with a positive attitude to life.
