Assistant Accountant

Porthaven is a rapidly expanding, market-leading care home group. Porthaven’s aim is to build a small group of exceptional care homes, where the excellent care is matched by the superb environment. Porthaven opened its first care home in 2010 and there are now 18 purpose-built care homes in operation. The 18th home opened in February 2022 and 3 further sites are under construction whilst there is a strong, fully supported, development pipeline for future care homes.

This role will support the expanding Finance Team (currently 17), based in the Head Office in Windsor.

Summary

The primary focus of this role is to support the Group Finance Manager and Operations Accountant with all of the weekly / monthly activities to ensure books are accurate and up-to-date to enable timely month-end close and reporting. The role will work closely with the other members of the Finance Team and the Financial Administrators at the assigned Care Homes.

General Responsibilities:

· Preparation of TB for assigned entities,

· Assist Group Finance Manager with accounting for property and management entities,

· Analysing the financials and posting month-end journals,

· Review issues and overspends at home level,

· Manage accruals, prepayments, fixed assets register and full balance sheet reconciliation,

· General accounts support and adhoc requests.

Revenue and Receivables:

· Review accuracy and completeness of resident invoices CoolCare,

· Regular reconciliation of invoices between Coolcare & Sage,

· Review cash book and receipts,

· Prepare the weekly Flash Reporting.

Purchasing to Payables:

· Review invoice postings to ensure they have been coded appropriately,

· Review allocation of payments and cash book updates,

· Prepare bi-monthly and adhoc payment runs,

· Corporate Card reconciliations and journal posting.

Payroll:

· Payroll administration, collation, verification and submission of payroll information,

· Investigate and resolve queries or information requests,

· Process Payroll and relevant journals.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £31,000.00-£33,500.00 per year
