We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Accounts team at HIT Training Ltd to support the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

What you’ll do at HIT
The Assistant Accountant will be predominantly responsible for purchase ledger and the generation of sales ledger invoices for our apprenticeships. Alongside this, you will be responsible for Nominal Ledger journals, Balance sheet reconciliations and query investigation and resolution.
Typical monthly tasks will include:
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Preparing twice monthly payment runs in line with internal controls (invoice authorisations)
- Performing supplier statement reconciliations, with good maintenance of aged accounts
- Reviewing supplier balances to ensure completeness, e.g. all payments allocated
- Generating employer contribution invoices from source data and sending out
- Composing NL journals from source data, for review by FM
- Reconciliation schedules for balance sheet accounts
About you
We are looking for a candidate with experience within accounts, this can be at a Junior or Assistant Accountant level. We’re also looking for the following skills and experience:
- High level of attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Experience working with accounting software (ideally Access Dimensions)
- Ideally part qualified or working towards accountancy qualifications (e.g. AAT)
- Good Excel skills including Vlookups and Pivot tables
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Passionate, enthusiastic and with the ambition and commitment to deliver
- Honesty, integrity, professionalism and confidentiality

Assistant Accountants with HIT can expect to receive a competitive starting salary of £25,000 - £30,000 depending on your skills and experience.
