Croydon Council has 14,000 residential properties. The Council invests about £28m in its homes each year; information about its housing stock is used to develop annual investment plans and strategic longer term objectives such as energy efficiency measures to help reduce fuel poverty and CO² (carbon dioxide) emissions. Asset data is used to inform, and support the implementation of strategic objectives such as maintaining all homes to the decent homes standard and improving energy efficiency.
This post is based in the Asset Management Team which is responsible for the business plan, asset management strategy, and annual planned maintenance and improvement programme relating to the council’s housing stock of 14,000 properties.
This post is key to supporting the development of a well-informed asset management strategy and annual investment programme, ensuring that capital resources are invested wisely in order to ensure a long life and meet current and future needs.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar or related field, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications specially MS Excel. Experience of working with databases or large datasets is desirable.
Using data management skills the post holder will be responsible for;
- Receiving and investigating enquiries from residents, internal teams and MPs
- Ensuring the quality and integrity of asset data
- Undertaking the quality assurance processes on stock data
- Planning and organizing the diaries of the stock condition surveyors
- Updating that the APEX asbestos register is accurate
- Supporting service transformation through ICT and data integration with third party service providers
The candidate will need to demonstrate a pro-active approach to their role including the ability to manage their workload with minimal supervision as well as their ability to work as part of a team and liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

The successful applicant will work in an agile way. This role is offered on a full time Permanent basis 36 hours per week.
