We need you to assist victim-survivors of domestic abuse to make informed decisions about remaining in their home, by carrying out home visits, completing comprehensive ‘Sanctuary Scheme’ assessments and providing advice. A Sanctuary Scheme is a survivor centred initiative which aims to make it possible for victims of domestic abuse to remain in their own homes, where it is safe for them to do so, where it is their choice, and where the perpetrator does not live in the accommodation. This is done by providing additional security – ‘installing a sanctuary’ – to the victims’ property or perimeter to enable victim-survivors to remain and feel safe in their home and achieve better health and wellbeing outcomes.
You will have at least 2 years experience in a relevant area which may include; housing, social/community care, welfare benefits or advice services. With excellent interpersonal skills, you will have experience of working with vulnerable households and with a range of professions and organisations. You will have good organisation skills with the ability to manage a caseload of clients effectively. You must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel around the borough.
Subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure, through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
