Glass Services Ltd
We are a busy, family-run business looking for a new recruit to become part of our friendly team. Situated on the Kingsnorth Industrial Estate, Ashford, we operate from our 30,000 sqft of modern equipped factory premises with more than 40 full-time members of staff.
We are currently looking for someone to assist our production team. The position offers a diverse and broad spectrum of work which we hope any new recruit would find both interesting and a challenge in learning new skills.
Duties can include but would would not be limited to, loading and unloading sheet glass of various sizes onto machinery infeed and outfeeds, basic operations such as applying tapes and adhesives during the assembly of double glazed units, applying packaging and separation padding to individual glass sheets. Putting finished products into storage and picking orders from storage for dispatch or collection. Keeping the workplace safe and tidy at all times and cleaning down machinery between production.
The successful applicant be part of a small production team responsible for the production of a wide range of bespoke made flat glass products that are used across a wide range of industry. Attention to detail and a willingness to learn and work to a high standard is essential.
Other essential qualities must include:
- A friendly and positive approach to work
- Self-motivated and reliable with excellent time-keeping and attendance
- Able to work well as part of a small team.
- Capable of accepting and carrying out instructions when asked
- Own initiative
- Able to adhere to a smoking policy
- Be physically capable of manual handling alone or as part of a team
Duties may not be limited to the outlined position. Other duties can include assisting other employees in their duties to ensure production targets are met.
Applicants will need a strong understanding of sizes (using tape measure) and manual handling techniques whilst adhering to PPE requirements at all times. Training will be provided on the job and is progressive with time and ability. Previous experience is a strong advantage but not essential.

Previous experience is a strong advantage, but not essential. Rates of pay are dependant previous on experience and qualifications achieved and are also progressive with training and milestones achieved.
