Are you a creative powerhouse with a keen eye for attention grabbing design? Are you passionate about all things celebrity? If so, this is the role for you. We are looking for an experienced Art Editor to join our dynamic Magazines and Supplements team.

This role is pivotal to the success of our senior creative team, and an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity across our various magazine brands including OK!, New Magazine, OK.co.uk and the magazine supplements for the Mirror, Express and Daily Star.

We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is an initial 6 month fixed term contract.

This role is home and hub based linked to our London Hub in Canary Wharf. We are therefore open to candidates based in and around London.

Key Responsibilities

What will the role involve?

You will deliver eye catching page layouts across print titles in keeping with each brand’s specific identity and style. You will oversee design and status of all live and advance magazine issues, as well as the overall day to day of the art desk. You will support and delegate work to your creative team and guide them to ensure deadlines are met. You will work closely with the Creative Director to develop and embrace new working practices to increase content sharing among titles.

You will oversee your team as a people manager, creating rotas and fostering a creative and supportive work environment. You will have the opportunity to attend exciting shoots and events, having input into the creative direction across the magazine titles. You will play a key role in signing off on creative work for our much anticipated Royal issues.

The Ideal Candidate

Who are we looking for?

You are an experienced and innovative Creative/Art Editor or Deputy with exceptional design skills and a thorough understanding of our magazines brands. You have experience working within a fast paced newsroom or magazine environment and you know how to create varied and show stopping layouts that match different house styles.

You have experience managing a large creative team, understanding how to manage budgets and team development. You have a bursting contact book and can utilise your network to help source creative content for our various magazines & supplements. You are passionate about making your creative ideas a reality and can inspire your team to do the same. You have a portfolio of highly creative work you can showcase and a wealth of people management experience to bring to the role.
