Art/Design & Technology Technician - Job Description
Purpose of the job
To provide effective and efficient technical and administrative support within the Art/Design Technology Team
Reporting to
Head of Faculty
Main responsibilities
- To be responsible to the Head of Faculty (HOF) for Technology in co-ordinating the use, development and delivery of practical Technology resources and facilities, including the provision of guidance and support in meeting the practical requirements of the Technology curriculum; liaising with all areas of the Academy and outside organisations.
- To ensure and promote the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment.
- To contribute to the art, design, development, and maintenance of specialist resources and/or long-term projects and offer professional guidance, assistance and support to students and teachers on the practical aspects of the curriculum.
- To be responsible for monitoring systems used in the management and control of practical resources.
- Under the overall guidance of the HOF, to ensure that both routine and non-routine checking, cleaning, maintenance, calibration, testing and repairing of equipment are carried out to the required standard.
- To provide technical support within the team to ensure there is the potential for exceptional high-quality teaching and learning in Technology.
- To provide administrative support within the faculty.
- To undertake such other duties as reasonably required by the Headteacher.
