Cottesmore Station Headquarters’ mission is to provide effective logistical and infrastructure support to all units, agencies and lodgers resident within Kendrew Barracks. The Station Storekeeper is part of a small team located in the Station Quartermasters Department which is focussed on delivering Firm Base logistical support. The team provides multiple outputs across the largest Army site in the East Midlands.
You will have the opportunity to work in a team delivering the support units need to enable them to live, work and train for operations. The team is responsible for laundry, waste management, fire safety, stores and accounting procedures and some aspects of Soft Facilities Management supporting our Industry Partners. We are looking for someone who is confident and proactive, who can prioritise their work across multiple areas of delivery. We are looking for an outstanding teammate who can deliver excellent customer service. We need someone who relishes a challenge and wants to make a difference.

Job description
The driver storekeeper role is fast paced and diverse which brings different challenges. The team supports over x1300 personnel from various units and the stores are key to supporting the work they do to be ready for operations. The main duties you will be required to undertake are as follows:
- Day to day control of stores and accounts, processing vouchers and carrying out general office procedures
- Data entry of demands and ensuring shelf life is maintained and stock rotation is utilised
- Maintain Defence Accommodation Stores (DAS) and Miscellaneous Stores Account (MSA); receipting and issuing of the stores manually and on Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI)
- Use of Contracting, Purchasing and Finance (CP&F) system to place demands outside the Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) system, receipt and issue
- Maintain Articles in Use (AinU) accounts for accommodation, miscellaneous and technical stores to accurately reflect distribution across the site
- Coordinate the laundry and dry-cleaning Soft Facilities Management (SFM) services for resident and lodger units within Kendrew Barracks
- Provide and control access to Station Scrap Compound in accordance with procedures; maintaining a register of use; providing advice to lodger units on waste disposal routes;
- Providing facility for the disposal of hazardous waste and petroleum, oils and lubricants (POL) products, segregating waste and stores in the appropriate manner and facilitating contractor waste collections through Defence Equipment Sales
- Drive/operate forklift truck (FLT) and Station vehicle to support Station activities, ensuring mechanical transport is in a roadworthy condition and user checks are carried out prior to use
- Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and maintain a register for electrical equipment held on account
- Asset and key management, providing access to buildings as required
- Provide excellent customer service and signposting information as required
Person specification
We are looking for someone who has worked in a logistics background particularly with stock management and the use of logistics IT systems. Previous experience of operating within a military logistics environment and an understanding of the MJDI system would be welcome but is not crucial as training will be provided.
Due to the nature of the role a clean driving license is an essential criterion for this position. A current Forklift Truck license would be encouraged or a willingness to undertake Forklift Training would be encouraged.
In a lively environment such as the Quartermasters excellent customer service and a basic understanding of Microsoft Office would be desirable. Due to the multi tasks encouraged of our stores personnel a willingness to undertake training and additional customer facing tasks is encouraged of all of our people.

To assist the panel with the sift candidates will be asked to provide a career history and a personal statement to show previous experience matching the requirements of the role. Successful candidates selected for interview will be required to show proof of a current UK Driving License and if held a Fork Lift Truck License.
