Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 9,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. At Andover Support Unit (ASpU), the Transport Support Unit (TSU) provides support to the Army Headquarters (AHQ) within Marlborough Lines, Andover. The TSU is 24 hour 7 days a week operational environment to conduct and support the military capability to operations worldwide.
Ensuring compliance in Defence Policy and Governance, the TSU driver service includes conveying AHQ personnel in either car, MPV or minibus to various locations throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities
- Tasked by Transport clerks in accordance with driver hours regulations, to conduct driven duties for AHQ personnel.
- First line vehicle maintenance and cleanliness of allocated staff car and AHQ fleet vehicles.
- Delivery of Driver Awareness training, direct to AHQ personnel, providing certification.

Person specification
To be considered for this job, you must demonstrate you are proficient driver, with excellent interpersonal skills and good attention to detail. Excellent time leadership skills, with an ability to prioritise is crucial, and we are looking for someone who can work independently and in a team.

Selection process details
The interview process will be in two stages, stage one will be either a face to face or online interview, this will be arranged directly with you when the interview is scheduled.
We will assess the following:
- Leadership

- Delivering at Pace
If successful at stage one, you will be invited to attend the TSU to conduct stage two, conducting the following practical assessments:
- Manual and Digital mapping exercise, where we will ask you to demonstrate how you plan routes.
- Driving assessment in a staff car and 17-seater minibus, MPV Transporter if you do not hold the minibus licence category.
Please note that stage two will take approximately 2 hours, you are required to bring your driving licence and national insurance number, failure to do so will result in termination of assessment.
We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the interview process, to perform crucial job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.

A minimum of 2 full working days’ notice will be provided for interviews.
