Job summary
Would you like to be part of one of the Armed Forces highest profile transformation programmes? The Armed Forces Recruiting Programme (AFRP) is a high value, Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP) tri-Service programme due to be completed by 2024. This is a sophisticated, high-profile programme which has the support and engagement of leaders at the very top of Defence. This role will sit at the heart of the AFRP, with a primary focus to support the Programme Director to plan, shape and deliver the future tri-Service recruiting solution. It will be future facing and working in collaboration with a future industry supplier. In detail, the role will support the Programme in the delivery and management of solution design. The role is a once in a generation opportunity to transform Armed Forces recruiting and you will be at the heart of it.
AFRP are based in Andover, therefore, Andover will be your base but there may be opportunities for some remote working if desired.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
The successful candidate should possess drive, strong inter-personal and collaboration skills, the ability to build positive and productive relationships, be comfortable working autonomously and be willing to embrace change and a culture of continuous improvement and efficient delivery. Excellent communication skills are essential for the role and the ability to build rapport across multi-discipline teams consisting of a mix of Military and Civilian.
Job description
The successful candidate will bring Project Delivery KSE (Key Skills and Experience) to support the AFRP in the planning and development of the future tri-Service Recruiting Operation. This planning will culminate in the delivery and operationalisation of the new end to end recruiting solution, transforming current Armed Forces recruiting operations into a single tri-Service system.
You will be part of a diverse but highly skilled team in place to deliver outputs in an agile and innovative manner. The Programme manager will manage the synchronisation of wider programme markers, sprints, and delivery markers. They will support the work of the AFRP with specialist resource from Psychologists to Organisational planners to ensure that momentum is maintained in the design and delivery of the future recruiting solution.

Key responsibilities will be:
- Working to ensure that the output from the commercial process of competitive dialogue is appropriately supported with specialist knowledge and that the agreed direction of travel is fully exploited. This will involve working with AFRP teams and specialist resource, engaging yourself in the delivery of AFRP outputs.
- Supporting delivery of a clear set of business change deliverable outputs to support transition to new solution.
- Focus on the management of delivery risk, working closely with the single Service Business Change community and the AFRP to ensure that risks have been identified, are owned, and are actively managed by the Project Controls team. You will lead this work within wider AFRP and attend Risk Working Groups.
- Working to ensure that communication into and out of the programme is seamless, clear, and effective. This will involve close collaboration with the wider AFRP stakeholder and Comms team to ensure coherence and effective message management.

Interviews will take place remotely via MS Teams. A minimum of 2 full working days’ notice will be provided for interviews
