Job description
We are launching our new Armed Forces Engagement Team and want you to be part of that!
Have you served in the Armed Forces or are a Reservist looking for an exciting new opportunity?
The Royal British Legion makes a huge impact in the lives of the UK serving Armed Forces personnel and their families through our campaigns, welfare support services and Remembrance. Those that serve are diverse, from a huge variety of backgrounds, including both the UK and Commonwealth nations and they serve to protect all of us, defending our ways of life and democratic freedoms.
We want to ensure that the Legion continues to be relevant to the serving Armed Forces community, that we look like them, have experience like them and can represent them at every level. The Armed Forces Engagement team will drive a strong connection to those who are serving and their families by providing a bold and coordinated approach to engagement across RBL.
This is a varied role, you could be developing military sports partnerships, planning and delivering Armed Forces focussed consultations and events, or working with our social media and marketing teams on resources to engage our Armed Forces and their families.
If successful, the main duties of your role will be:
- Lead and strengthen strategic engagement with the serving Armed Forces family, ensuring it achieves positive value.
- Consult with the serving community to better understand their engagement needs.
- Work with internal RBL teams, providing leadership, advice and guidance to ensure consistency in our approach to Armed Forces engagement.
Please note this role will be Home based nationally with occasional travel to our Head Office in London Haig House.
Reservists policy: We are committed to being flexible in granting time off to enable Reservice Service training and participation for Cadet Forces Adult volunteers, We will grant an additional paid leave of 15 days per year to you if you are a Reservist or Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer to enable you to fulfil your training commitments and activities.
Diversity Statement
We believe that the compassion, understanding, and service we show each and every individual should be reflected in the way we all support, respect, and include every individual who works with us. We want everyone involved in our work or receiving our services, to feel proud to contribute to or be part of a diverse and inclusive organisation.
We recognise that we still have a long way to go to ensure that we make the RBL a truly great and inclusive organisation to work for and be part of so we have set out our commitments to provide a clear path to deliver this ambition. We will keep listening, learning, and sharing our progress and impact.
