PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the Regional Manager in promoting a culture of excellent customer service and establishing excellent working relationships with client
  • Assist the Regional Manager in reviewing existing services, specifications, processes, productivity levels and quality control to secure and increase the efficient use of resources
  • Support the Regional Manager in ensuring that pre-determined output specifications and key targets are met for the region’s portfolio of buildings
  • Advising on payroll issues concerning employees within a specified geographic area under postholder’s responsibility (i.e. including overtime, absence etc)
  • Assist in the management of employees including: undertaking disciplinary investigations in line with company policy; undertaking initial recruitment interviews for operative positions; assisting in the motivation and leadership of employees.
  • Assist in the recruitment and induction of employees within the specified geographic area
  • Ensure company supplied Materials, Consumables, Equipment are used in the most efficient way possible and maintained to a good standard
  • Identify equipment to assist consistent standards and optimise service delivery
  • Ensure that all health and safety legislation and company policies are adhered to, within own level of responsibility (to include: undertaking role of Fire Warden and/or First Aider as required)
  • Assist the Regional Manager in undertaking regular site and service inspection tours ( Audits )and identifying areas on non-adhered to quality standards as appropriate

OPERATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Accountable for the completion of standard or non-standard tasks, within the scope of the function
  • Delivers activities to support operational objectives
  • Inputs to planning activities with horizons of typically up to 6 months
  • Makes decisions within parameters set by regional manager, using job/specialist experience
  • Interacts with clients or users around specific work efforts and deliverables
  • Supports delivery of Health and Safety policies and standards
  • Supervises the activities of others to meet deadlines and quality standards taking into account of impact outside areas of responsibility
  • Focus of work on the completion of a set of related tasks for a particular section or service with the ability to accommodate new tasks


KEY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Identify what relationships have to be maintained internally and externally, the type of contact e.g. providing updates vs influencing decisions, level of contact within the organisation and the frequency of the contact
  • Required to supervise a team of supervisors/team leaders
  • Co-ordinates available resources to deal with the work at hand
  • Required to assist less experienced staff
  • Undertakes the performance reviews and provides training recommendations
  • Responsible for performance management issues and recommending disciplinary actions
  • Support for Regional Manager
  • Engage effectively with functional teams (HR, Health & Safety, Payroll, Finance, Bid Winning, Commercial) to address related issues


DIMENSIONS

  • Responsible for the overall resourcing
  • Optimises performance

  • Full management control of people resources and is responsible for implementing disciplinary actions up to and including dismissal

  • Other:- e.g. number of sites, volumes
  • The job holder will have direct reports in a specified geographic area (40-70 approx)
  • The job holder will be responsible for in the region of 50 to 70 buildings within their specified geographic area
  • The Job Holder will have a medium impact on the Business Unit Performance

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Financial responsibility (Amount in £s and type of Budgets e.g. people, projects etc and whether they have indirect or direct responsibility for the finances to be added in to Additional Information)
  • Identifies ways to reduce cost
  • Work within a given budget, usually without authorised spending of their own


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Working knowledge of one functional area through job experience & training
  • Likely to have business experience, be a minimum part-qualified professional, and have a Certificate Level of Qualification as a minimum

DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY
The Job Holder is subject to managerial control and the job is generally subject to practices and procedures that have clear precedents or are covered by closely defined policies.
Job Holder would be expected to challenge unsafe practice
Job Holder will be required to make decisions in relation to the supervision of their team including recruitment, performance management and other people-related processes.
