We are a family owned and operated Commercial/Retail Janitorial Company. Our company has been in the industry for over 20 years and we are growing!
We are currently expanding our business and are seeking an experienced Area Manager for the East End of Toronto to Kingston.
The purpose of the Area Manager is to provide a liaison between the customer and the subcontractor and represent S&I Cleaning’s best interests at all times.
Responsibilities:
- 1. Vehicle:
- a. Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle
- b. Schedule routine maintenance
- c. Ensure that the fuel card is used only for business purposes
- d. Maintain a mileage log
- 2. Ensure that all company issued property is properly maintained and secured at all times
- 3. Ensure that uniforms are worn at all times and that they are kept in good clean condition
- 4. Communicate daily with Store Manager
- 5. Meet with Store Manager as required or at least once per month
- 6. Must be available to send and receive communication from customers, contractors, cleaning staff, company personnel outside of regular business hours to ensure proper service levels/goals are met
- 7. Daily follow up with contractors to ensure that scope of work is being maintained, periodic tasks are completed correctly and in a timely fashion
- 8. Advocate for your contractors/cleaning staff as required with Store Management for any issues related to their duties and responsibilities
- 9. Ensure proper procedures and training are in place for cleaning staff
- 10. Visitation and inspection of all assigned locations as required by S&I Cleaning guidelines to ensure quality service levels are achieved as per contract requirements
- 11. Liaison with Store Management to ensure customer satisfaction, to plan/schedule any periodic work as required as per contract, and to ensure any day to day operational issues are addressed
- 12. Follow up with contractors and customers (if applicable) to ensure that all required documents are completed and submitted to administration in a timely fashion
- 13. Work with contractors/cleaning staff as needed to continuously improve/train procedures and techniques. This will require being on site some evenings and weekends as needed.
- 14. Attend all meetings/training sessions as required by management and customers
- 15. Acting as quality control to ensure that all work is completed as per customers scope of work and specifications/standards
- 16. Observe and abide by all the rules, regulations, policies and expected procedures of S&I Cleaning Ltd. Any changes to these will be communicated to you as reasonable time frame as possible. An Area Manager will also ensure that the people working under their supervision abide by the same standards.
- 17. An Area Manager will at all times enforce and enact fair employment practices as required by Provincial Employment Standards and ensure that any and all contractors under their supervision are also compliant.
- 18. An Area Manager is responsible at all times for acting in the best interests of S&I Cleaning and the customer, including maintaining confidentiality and proprietary practices and procedures.
- 19. Area Manager is responsible for ensuring that appropriate cleaning staff are on site as scheduled and may be required in some instances to perform any cleaning tasks not completed by staff
- 20. Manage time effectively to ensure that all tasks are completed and to maintain a healthy and balanced relationship with Customers, Contractors, Cleaning Staff, Management and Yourself
- 21. Perform any/all reasonable tasks as required by Customer and Upper Management
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- Cleaning: 2 years (required)
- Floor Cleaning: 2 years (required)
