Job Title: Area Manager
Place of work: Services *currently have services that include Wirral, Wallasey, Huyton, Prescot, Southport. You will jointly have the responsibility with another Area Manager to oversee our services.
You will be expected to undertake on-call responsibility, with an additional payment given for each on-call completed.
Reports to: Director of Operations/CQC Registered Manager
Purpose of Job
The Area Manager will work as part of a team with specific responsibilities for the line management of projects and services that are assigned to them.
They will have responsibility for the compliance of their services with all regulatory standards.
The Area Manager will contribute to the development of 365 Support Limited
Services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for all aspects of the Area management of assigned services.
2. Ensuring that best practice is achieved by support staff in accordance with the company’s principles and philosophy.
3. With the involvement of C.Q.C., monitor and evaluate standards of care/support planning and risk assessment ensuring they exceed the standards and criteria laid down by statutory requirements.
4. To liaise with the housing services department to ensure standards of décor are maintained within houses.
5. To liaise with statutory bodies supporting service managers during inspection and service review.
6. To keep abreast of developments in theory, practice and legislation in relation to the social care sector through liaison with statutory bodies, networking with fellow professionals and practice forums within 365 Support
Limited.
7. Ensure performance indicators are met and recorded and data provided to commissioners within time limits.
8. To actively monitor all aspects of Area budgets within services specifically assigned to you. Carrying out budget reviews on a regular basis in conjunction with the service managers. To liaise closely with the finance department throughout budget appraisals and to participate in the budget setting process.
9. To support the Directors in ensuring that costings are put together appropriately for existing and or future developments.
10. To actively monitor staff retention and service recruitment needs, liaising with human resources, co-operating with fellow Area Managers and supporting service managers through the recruitment process.
11. To monitor staff rosters ensuring best use of the company’s resources and value for money.
12. To develop and market the services of 365 Support Limited through attendance at forums, close liaison, joint working with statutory services, commissioners as well as stakeholders of the company.
13. In conjunction with the Director take responsibility for the development, costing, contracting and tendering of services.
14. To liaise with housing associations and housing providers to facilitate project development.
15. To undertake assessment of potential service-users with direction from the
Director and ensure maximum occupancy in all of our services.
16. To facilitate with others in respect of transitional plans for service-users entering the service ensuring they are person centred.
17. To support service users/carers/parents as required during assessment and transition periods acting as a focal point for all queries relating to service provision.
18. In conjunction with the human resources department, ensure that training, guidance and support are available to all staff.
19. To participate in training.
20. To support the team in providing internal and external training as required.
21. To support the service-user surgery and social events as required.
22. Investigate any complaint or staff grievance under the direction of the human resources department.
23. To liaise with statutory bodies regarding service-user protection.
24. Provide regular reports in line with the Directors requirements.
General Responsibilities
1. Be a member of the senior management team, contributing to overall policy development.
2. Co-ordinate monthly manager’s meetings with Service Managers and or
Senior Support Workers to keep them up-to-date on company activities occurring.
3. Co-operate in a professional manner with all company staff in maintaining good relations with outside bodies and the general public in order to promote the company’s image and gain increased support for its work.
4. Ensure and monitor that the company’s policies are distributed, understood and implemented within service.
5. Co-operate with all company staff in maintaining amicable inter-personal relations.
6. To be on-call for the service as required.
7. Develop services in line with the business plan, and the needs of the service- users.
8. Maintain confidentiality for all areas of the company, its staff and Area.
9. In conjunction with the HSE and the company’s Health & Safety representatives ensure good standards of health and safety in all areas of work.
10. Carry out and undertake other items additional to those listed above according to the needs of 365 Support Limited, and within the competencies and skills of the jobholder.
To complete any other duties and responsibilities when requested, which are commensurate with this role.
