We are looking for a Area Director to join us at Huws Gray!
This role will cover our branches in Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Stockton, Longtown & Penrith.
If you’re in the trade or have ever tackled a home improvement project, you’ve probably heard of us. As an Area Director you’ll have your own area P&L and will take full responsibility for the operational performance of a network of branches. You’ll need to build strong relationships with your branch teams, enabling them to drive exceptional sales and margin growth. Customer service is at the core of what we do, so you will be looking for opportunities to continually develop this experience within your branches.
Here’s a quick overview of some of the things you can expect in your role as an Area Director with Huws Gray.
- Providing overall guidance and leadership for your branches
- Working with branches on an individual basis to establish sales and margin plans
- Utilising business intelligence to drive decision making, creating a data-driven culture amongst your management team
- Building a high-performing branch management team by creating a highly engaged culture at all levels
- Developing key supplier relationships, with the objective of maximising their support in the delivery of our business objectives
- Supporting the recruitment, induction, integration, and retention of staff Encouraging training and development within the branch teams
As an Area Director, we’re looking for the following attributes:
- A solid knowledge of the builders merchant industry
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
- A strong track record of recruiting top talent and creating high-performing teams, driving exceptional performance through a ‘winning’ mentality
- A proven track record of developing and delivering branch and regional plans resulting in substantial growth in both sales and margin
