Based: Queen Square, Bristol
Contract Type: Temporary, full-time / part-time
Duration: 1-2 months
Hours: Either 5 days a week (37.5 hours a week) or 2 days a week, 15 hours per week (These hours can be worked flexibly between Monday – Friday, 9-5.30pm)
Archiving Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Ince & Co. as a Temporary Archiving Assistant in our Queen Square office to provide support to our legal teams.
This role is supporting the Archives team in reviewing a large volume of archived documentation of c70,000 boxes to be reviewed and either re-catalogued with a thorough description and stored or destroyed. This role will also undertake other tasks assigned to the Archives team as well as supporting other projects as and when required.
Role Responsibilities
- This role is office based and would require coming into the office.
- Reviewing, analysing and organising legal documents.
- Extracting original legal documents, re-filing and cataloguing them as required.
- Reporting as needed to Matter Partners, Divisional Assistants and Archives.
- Complete file destruction schedules where appropriate.
- Obtaining destruction authorisation from Matter Partners.
- Destroying files as per destruction policy.
- Re-cataloguing files into new database.
- Maintain the security of files and being able to locate them at any time - this is fundamental to the safeguarding of our clients' interests and, in turn, the Firm's business.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

- Proven ability to multi task
- Demonstrate the ongoing use of initiative
- Proven ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Well presented, professional and articulate.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability communicate professionally and respectfully with all you interact with
- Able to demonstrate experience liaising pro-actively with third parties professionally
- Excellent time management, organisational and administrative skills
- Team player but self-motivated and able to work autonomously and pro-actively through remote management
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all sensitive and confidential issues.
