We are now looking for an Archives and Records Assistant to join our Swansea campus on a full time permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.
- THE ROLE –
You will help to provide access to the historical institutional archives and Special Collections and help to raise their profile, internally and externally and be expected to work effectively and pro-actively without constant supervision.

- ABOUT YOU -
To be considered as an Archives and Records Assistant, you will need:
- Educated to a good standard of general education, e.g. GCSE level or equivalent
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and processes, IT Literacy and core IT systems
- Ability to work to deadlines, manage workload and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience of dealing with enquiries
- Work flexibly, including travel between campuses and locations
- Lifting and carrying of heavy boxes containing paper records safely.
It would also be beneficial if you have:
- Degree or equivalent higher-level qualification in archives/information management, librarianship or related discipline
- Experience of working with paper and/or electronic organisational records
- Knowledge of legislation related to information management, eg the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act (2000).
- Experience of working with archives, Special Collections or other heritage items, training or guidance for staff or the public, archives management systems and involvement in outreach activities
