Architectural Designer
Woods Home Design is a family run business based in the heart of Surrey, specialising in design and build services. We are looking to expand our team by recruiting a full time architectural technician to join us in our a lovely garden office in Guildford (hybrid options available). We are a small but busy team, and are searching for an experienced technician who can hit the ground running with our ever growing list of exciting build projects.
Duties:
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to develop design concepts and architectural plans for householder planning applications.
- Develop detailed drawings and specifications for construction projects for Building Regulations Approval.
- Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility and gather necessary information.
- Coordinate with engineers and contractors to ensure design integrity and compliance with building regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in architectural design.
Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of building systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Excellent detail design skills for creating detailed drawings and specifications.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative design concepts.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, project teams, and contractors.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in plans and specifications.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical design principles for integrating plumbing and electrical systems into architectural designs.
- Familiarity with interior design principles for selecting materials, finishes, and furnishings.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Guildford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- AutoCAD: 2 years (preferred)
