Senior Architect, Cloud & DevOps

Location: Southampton ( Hybrid)

Salary Details: Up to £95K

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Cloud Architect to join the Technology Department at a market leading retail business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and promoting the strategic, business-aligned cloud approach. You will need to be able to effectively engage with key Business & Technology stakeholders, to understand key business initiatives and then guide the stakeholders to a commonly agreed cloud architecture.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical leadership in the development of cloud roadmaps, as well as consulting services to guide the company towards an agreed-upon cloud approach.
• Maintain an in depth understanding of company systems, services and capabilities landscape, and interaction of those systems in the legacy landscape and in the future state architecture.
• Support new initiatives with cloud architecture and create a business-aligned cloud architecture that enables and supports business agility and effectiveness.

Knowledge/Experience

• Previous experience of architecting, designing, building and supporting AWS / Azure for a minimum of 4 years.
• A broad range of technologies and pragmatic architectural approaches.
• Strong understanding of architectural methodologies / frameworks.
• Experience of evaluating and recommending new cloud services and platforms in response to best meet business needs.
• Experience with different technologies and implementations, including visualisation, web/digital, cloud services (e.g. AWS; Azure), integration, satellite communications, converged networks (including IPTV, VOIP, VoWLAN and CCTV) and mobile.
