Grey Seal Academy is a quality driven training provider seeking a professional, experienced Trainer or Horticultural / Grounds Maintenance Manager to deliver Horticulture Operative Level 2 Apprenticeships to a range of employed learners on Apprenticeship Standards. You will be delivering at client company sites to individuals and groups as well as making use of a range of technology such as skype, webinars and an online portfolio. You will also have input into training design and improvements which will be individualised to learners and / or organisations. You will need to have gained solid Horticulture / Grounds Maintenance experience preferably with qualifications for training and assessment, however qualifications can be achieved within the role where necessary.
The Apprentices you will be teaching with will be employed to work in e.g., public parks and gardens, green spaces and historic gardens, private gardens and estates or in production nurseries and retail outlets. Many businesses will be specialised in their activities, such as grounds maintenance (soft-landscape) or landscape construction (hard-landscape). Soft- landscaping includes the establishment and maintenance of plants and cultivated areas. Hard-landscaping includes establishment of hard surfaces and structures in addition to the establishment of plants in cultivated areas.
Full time or part time would be considered
Role – Trainer and Assessor
· Delivering training in Horticulture and possibly other subjects e.g., sports turf, golf greenkeeping, property maintenance, facilities operative. The additional subjects will only be added according to your personal work experience and knowledge
· This Apprenticeship includes practical skills at Level 2 within planting, soil cultivation, vegetation control, environmental, turf management, pruning, propagation etc
· Delivering training using a range of methods both individually and in small groups
· Delivering training face to face and using technology such as skype, webinar etc.
· Assisting with ongoing development and continuous improvement of training materials and course content
· Engaging with employers in terms of feedback, customer service, reviews etc.
· Working from home and field based – possible overnight stays (expensed)
Requirements – Trainer and Assessor
· Horticulture Management experience
· Training / Supervisory experience
· Preferably with training and / or assessment qualifications e.g., A1, TAQA, E&T, PTTLS, Cert Ed, DTTLS
· Preferably with quality assurance qualifications e.g., IQA
· Horticulture qualifications are preferable
· Driving licence

Salary: £25,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
