Key Responsibilities
As part of our growth plans we have an exciting opportunity for a new Apprentice Warehouse Operative. Working within our warehouse team you will ensure orders are picked and packed accurately, load and unload vehicles, and move materials around the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner.
Alongside internal training you will take the Supply Chain Warehouse Operative apprenticeship programme that will support you in gaining the essential skills, knowledge & behaviours to perform to high level and support your career development.
Reporting directly to the warehouse manager the key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure all picking notes are picked, quality checked, invoiced and packaged correctly and on time
- Develop product knowledge to be able to distinguish between the different types of material
- Invoice, enter locations and check batch information on company’s computer system
- Offload, quality check and sort received stock
- Identify and locate material into racks, ensuring it is stored correctly and safely
- Follow and apply the established processes and systems at the Service Centre
- Liaise with the Operations Team to ensure physical stock, locations, etc., tie up exactly with computer stock records
- Take part in periodic stock checks
- Maintain housekeeping standards within the warehouse
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed, communicating any observed unsafe acts or conditions, such as damage to stock, racking or machinery

Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent Maths & English (Grade Grade A*-C/ 4-9) essential
- Other Multi-directional Reach FLT Licence (Grade Pass) desirable
Things to consider
Whilst the majority of stock is moved with fork-lift, there is still a fair amount of manual handling and the applicant is required to be physically capable
Additional Information
Annual wage
£13,000
All staff are eligible for the business’ profit share scheme. Also, paid team nights out.
Working week
Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 7:00pm.
Total hours per week: 40 hours a week

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Apprenticeship standard - Supply Chain Warehouse Operative level 2.
This will consist of:
- A fully embedded induction programme delivered by the employer and Seetec Outsource Training and Skills
- An initial assessment of your skills, knowledge and behaviours in order to develop and enhance your career and personal progression
- In line with the with functional skills requirements set by the standard, (where applicable), we will analyse and continuously develop English and mathematics
- On the job training delivered by the employer
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
A full-time, permanent position will be offered upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
