Our Stafford branch opened at the end of Summer 2015, in the heart of the Town Centre. Opposite the Edwardian Swan Hotel and next door to St Chad's Church, the store is within one of the oldest and beautiful buildings in the town.
Chain Warehouse Operative (Apprentice)
Carrying out a range of moving, packaging and stock-taking roles and duties in a warehouse environment. Chain Warehouse Operatives will be situated in one of two warehouse environments. Work activities include taking deliveries, checking for damaged/missing items, storing goods, moving stock by various methods, picking/packing orders, loading goods for dispatch, maintaining stock records and documentation, and cleaning.
40 hours per week
07:00-07:30 start
15:30 finish Mon-Fri
Apprenticeship Standard and Duration:
Supply Chain Warehouse Operative – Level 2
12 months Apprenticeship standard (this does not include End point assessment)
Details of standard
Warehouse Operatives work in a variety of warehouse environments. Work activities include taking deliveries, checking for damaged/missing items, storing goods, moving stock by various methods, picking/packing orders, loading goods for dispatch, maintaining stock records and documentation, and cleaning. They are required to safely use a range of equipment, machinery and vehicles, as relevant to their role and setting. This could include pump trucks, steps and materials handling equipment.
Warehouse Operatives communicate with a wide range of people and customers. They have a passion to meet customers’ expectations by providing a quality service that encourages repeat business. Individuals in this role are highly competent in using industry-recognised systems and associated services and will be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
A Warehouse Operative will often be required to be flexible and work shifts including 4-on-4-off, days, nights, evenings, and weekends.
Skills Required: Able to follow instructions, communication skills, team working, initiative, organisational skills, reliable, patient, keen interest to learn and develop. Good attention to detail.
Personal Qualities Required:
Good Listener, Timekeeping, Respect in the workplace, communication skills
· Grades equivalent to Supply Chain Warehouse Operative L2 Apprenticeship Standard
· Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 1
Apprenticeship will be provided by Stepping Stones Education & Training.
Bus Route – Bus routes from various locations to Hanley.
Yes full time employment and progression opportunity onto a L3.
