HSE’s Science Division is a world leading provider of health and safety solutions to industry and government. The scope of our work requires a diversity of talented individuals to investigate workplace incidents, provide scientific support to HSE inspectors directly or through research and provide consultancy support and training to UK industry.
You will be working as part of the Projects, Performance and Compliance group. A key function of the role will be to provide administrative support and deliver on Science Division's performance and compliance activities.
This role is based at HSE, Science Division's Buxton Facility. HSE have a hybrid working policy, however it is expected that the successful applicant will be on site at Buxton 3 days a week.'

We have two exciting opportunities within our Science Division (SD) for apprentices to join our growing organisation.
Our apprenticeships are offered on a Permanent Contract upon successful completion of your apprenticeship and satisfactory performance.

As an Administrative Officer, you are the foundations of our operational delivery and play a pivotal role in helping us deliver important project projects and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- You will provide comprehensive admin/project support
- You will undertake transactional functions to maintain the data held within the Science Division's project management system
- You will maintain the Science Division's time recording system
- You will contribute to the ongoing continuous improvement of yourself and the team
- You will support Science Division's Health, Safety and wellbeing activities
- You will manage a shared mailbox as part of a rota

Essential Criteria
To succeed in this role, you will be;
- Able to work with the main Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Able to accurately input data into systems and follow processes
- Well organised, able to prioritise your work and meet deadlines
- A team player, able to communicate and build effective relationships with your colleagues within your team and across the business
This is a development role so to be eligible to apply, the training and development you receive must provide you with significant new skills and learning. This is an essential requirement for apprenticeship funding and means you must not already be fully qualified or significantly experienced in this type of work.
- Be aged 16 or over (there is no upper age limit)
- Have the right to work in the UK and have been ordinarily resident in the UK/EU/EA for 3 consecutive years before starting the apprenticeship

Application

Sift
The sift will take place Week Commencing 27th February 2023 and you will be assessed on your Personal Statement. Your CV will be used for information purposes only.
Interviews
Interviews will take place face-to-face at our Buxton office, SK17 9JN, during week commencing 13th March 2023 and you will be interviewed on your experience, strengths and the following behaviour:
