Region NCE > SBU NCE Service > UK/IRE Area 2 – West
Department:
The Service department is responsible for the service and maintenance of the wind farms within the UK and Ireland. The department has an open and informal culture, where teamwork and good communication is the key to our completed project. You will have the opportunity to work in an exciting industry and in a team of highly motivated employees.
Responsibilities:
- It is required to develop a detailed knowledge of our wind turbines to enable you to perform daily maintenance, repairs, and other field service-related tasks.
- Working to the highest safety and environmental standards while ensuring that service targets are met, you will be part of a team of service technicians working throughout the region.
- Other tasks may also be to carry out periodic service inspections in accordance with Vestas’s specifications together with component replacement (both electrical and mechanical)
- Apprentices will work with teams across different parts of the business, gaining meaningful industry experience and will have ample opportunity to learn from colleagues who have already completed apprenticeships in the same discipline!
- We are looking for apprentices who want to learn on the job, develop practical skills and personal competencies, and build relationships with colleagues across our business.
Qualifications:
- Keen to learn.
- A positive approach to work and learning.
- Time management and punctuality will be to a high standard.
- A willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative with Academic Qualifications in English, Maths, and Science.
- A full, clean driving license.
Competencies:
- The ability to work at a height of 100 meters and in adverse weather conditions
- Advanced problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Experience of the team working
- A positive approach, being self-motivated and well organized
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- An appropriate understanding of, and commitment to, the highest standard of health & safety in the work environment.
- A good level of computer literacy.

- Qualifications of NC, HNC & HND via placement at Ayrshire

Additional information
This role will operate from our service base in Dalry, Ayrshire.
You will be working in this area but may also involve working across the region and the UK as well. You may also be asked to support other regions if required by the business.
The initial training period for this role will require travel to Denmark and through the UK with overnight stays which may be for a few weeks at a time.
During the work could appear to travel across the region and the UK to support other regions if required by the business.
