Job description
The Medical Physics Department at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Teaching Trust have a unique and exciting opportunity for someone to undertake a 3-year BSc degree apprenticeship programme to develop the skills and gain a qualification in Healthcare Science as a Radiation Protection Technologist.
We are a small team who provide quality assurance testing and advice on radiation equipment. As an apprentice you will be given the training and experience in the workplace to undertake regular surveys and assessments of radiographic facilities, to ensure that equipment works safely and efficiently to produce the best imaging and diagnosis for patients.
This is an interesting and exciting career and would suit someone who has an interest in and would enjoy performing quality control measurements on a variety of radiation / imaging equipment requiring travel across the three main hospital sites.
The post will be demanding and require significant commitment to balance time to complete academic qualification. The degree will commence in September 2023 with the University of West of England, through block release and remote weekly study days throughout the academic year.
£35,392 to £42,618 a year Annex 21 (Year 1: 65% top of band 6, Year 2: 70% and year 3: 75%)
