Are you interested in a rewarding new career in pharmacy? The Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) programme allows you to earn whilst training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
Supported by our respected pharmacy team our apprentices gain practical experience while undertaking a distance learning apprenticeship delivered by the University of East Anglia. Once completed you will be eligible for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
You will need to be hardworking, enthusiastic, and dedicated to achieving the qualification as it requires self-driven learning during the designated study day each week alongside university delivered face to face sessions and online teaching sessions.
Our apprentices build knowledge, skills and behaviours across dispensary, pharmacy stores, quality assurance and on the hospital wards.
The post is a 2-year fixed term full-time contract of 37.5 hours a week with a weekend rota of 1 in 8 weekends and bank holiday commitment. Candidates must be eligible for an apprenticeship to apply for the role.
Permanent employment is not guaranteed at the end of the training programme but once registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC, you can apply for pharmacy technician roles either at the Trust, depending on vacancies, or elsewhere.
Candidates must be available for a September 2023 start.
Additional Salary Details: 70% of B4 Salary for Year 1 (topped up to meet min wage), 75% for Year 2
Applicants will;
- have FOUR GCSEs grade C/level 4 or above including English, Maths and at least one Science (or equivalent)
- have good communication skills
- be eager and able to study, learn and work simultaneously
- be able to manage multiple deadlines
Overseas qualifications are assessed on a case-by-case basis and all overseas applicants must have obtained a ‘Statement of Compatibility’ of their overseas qualifications from the UK National Information Centre for the recognition and evaluation of international qualifications and skill UK ENIC (formally NARIC)www.enic.org.uk.
