An opportunity for a person with ambitions of a career in law to develop within an established Dewsbury Law Practice. Fantastic opportunity to learn and earn at the same time! General duties include making and receiving telephone calls, preparing precise attendance notes, and filing, etc.

THE LAW PRACTICE
- We deal with multiple areas of law which include conveyancing, immigration, personal injury, family, civil litigation, wills & probate and much more.
- We are a quiet and relaxed/friendly law firm, and the colleagues get along very well, and all support one another. Different departments are in different office spaces and the areas are small plan.
- The apprentice will be sat within a group with their colleagues and will be assisting the fee earners in their departments. Apprentices may also cover the reception area and engage regularly with clients in person and over the telephone. They will be conducting their workload within the reception area if required.
THE POSITION
- The role will include but not limited to the following;
- Taking calls and engaging with clients, ensuring all their needs are met
- Assisting the solicitors with their workload
- Carrying out admin work e.g scanning, copying
- Draft letters and documents
- Record and monitor deadlines
- Log and distribute incoming mail including electronic mail
- Process and track legal work
- Set up and manage filing systems
- Open and close files physically and electronically
- Monitor social media and create new posts
- Research into opportunities that will benefit and grow the firm
IMPORTANT

Desired skills
- 4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's
- Confident with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
- Good attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
- Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
- The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills

You will complete the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard.
- This Apprenticeship will involve off the job training.
- You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours.
- You need to have an employer to support your Apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role.
- The typical length of this Apprenticeship course is 18 months.
- This course has multiple start dates throughout the year
