Our client is recruiting for an Apprentice Network Engineer to join their team in Manchester.

The Company

We manage and support the infrastructure and local systems for a variety of customers. We have been trading for almost 20 years, with offices in London, however our customers have bases in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and also in the USA and China.

Our smallest client is a lady who works alone as a recruiter. Our larger clients include London College of Accountancy and University of Northampton. For the larger organisations, we have procured, installed and configured on-site and cloud replicated systems and manage the infrastructure. For our regular customers, we do similar, but also support the local workstations and internal devices.

The Position

Job Title: Apprentice Network Engineer

Apprenticeship Course: Level 4 Network Engineer

Apprenticeship Duration: 21 months + EPA

Location: Manchester

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 – 18:00pm

Salary: £12,000

Role and Responsibilities

We are looking to add an engineer to our team, who we can train our way. We are very informal and more like a family than a work team. We are however very professional in our approach to our customers and in the service which we offer.

The engineer will initially learn our custom base, how to connect to their local machines and perform maintenance support on them. During this process, you will be able to shadow the more senior engineers when any technical questions appear and have access to our team to help with any questions you have. We will teach you every step of the way and assist in your growth as an engineer.

Apart from the courses you will be doing on the apprenticeship scheme, we will assist you in your Microsoft qualifications. This will be on user and network levels. All the engineers are qualified and have much experience.

We are in the process of setting up a network for another University in Manchester and would like someone based here, who can go to site and check cabling and/or follow instruction to assist the client directly or with one of the senior engineers. We are also now supporting a recruitment company in Manchester city centre.

Our last apprentice has been working as part of the team for just over 10 years. He is now a fully qualified network engineer.
