ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Location: Bletchley Campus/Chaffron Way Campus
Duration or residency: October 2023 – June 2024
IN SHORT
Milton Keynes College are seeking graduate artists/ designers to work with staff and students within the School of Arts and Media for the academic year 23/24. We particularly welcome graduates who have an interest in teaching and sharing their skills with students through practical/theoretical workshops. During the residency programme, the selected artists and designers will have the opportunity to develop their own creative practices using the department’s facilities along with opportunities to share skills through the delivery of workshops to staff and students.
The courses we run are (Levels 1, 2, 3 and Foundation Diploma):
- Fashion and Textiles
- Art and Design (including Fine art and 3D design)
- Graphic Design
- Photography
Facilities available to you:
- Laser cutter
- Apple Macs (Adobe Photoshop® and Illustrator®)
- Printmaking studio (screen printing and print press)
- Sculpture studio (ceramics, kiln, tabletop pottery wheels)
- Fashion Studio (heat press, sewing machines and overlockers)
- Photography Studio
- Darkroom

What we expect of you:
- Run at least 6 practical/theoretical workshops for staff/students sharing your own practice during residency programme.
- Be on-site using the facilities and or studio space at least half a day a week.
- An artist talk(s) for staff/students.
- Willingness to support in the organisation of the studios and workshops.
- Attend research visit trips as to supervise students (as required).
